What kind of topic is that to post it here? Wait for it.
Currently there's a shirtstorm in the github repo of Microsoft's VS Code where a dude opened an issue claiming a santa's-hat-icon as offensive as a swastika. Because Christmas was responsible for jew genocide in his eyes, it's offensive for him to place a santa's hat icon in an open source code editor. In addition he requests Microsoft to make this their first goal target.
Microsoft accepted the issue and removed the icon immediately. What a time to be alive. As a reaction from the community there's more funny issues on the issues page being opened like
- offensive word 'code'
- people from siberia needing hats
- the 'bug lives matter' movement
- alternatives to icons
- color themes vs color blinds
