I was browsing through /r/battlestations when I found some awesome system statistics display on someones desktop. It turned out to be Rainmeter. Rainmeter is a kind of Desktop overlay which let's you customize Information display in an awesome way. Besides it doesn't eat up much system ressources to show those real time stats (of course depending on the skins you install). There are many rainmeter skins on /r/rainmeter, one I really like is the Miami Vice Meters.

But be warned, once you installed some skins, it can get an addiction pretty fast.
